As promised by Renault to launch five products in 2012, the company is all set to bring in another attractive and exciting offering to the Indian car bazaar. Renault India might just launch its much awaited mid-sized sedan, Renault Scala just before the festive season here. There are rumors in the market, which suggest that the launch could happen in the month of September. The car would directly challenge the successful Skoda Rapid.

The specification and details of Scala are still kept under the hood, but according to the grapevine, the design studio of Renault in Mumbai has revamped Nissan Sunny and made it into Scala. The car will feature a brand new look from the rear with Scala nameplate, along with some charming headlights on the front. The wheel and chrome hints around the body will provide Renault Scala a new look.

Coming to the interiors, the fresh reports suggest that the Renault Scala Interiors are expected to be inspired from Renault Pulse hatchback. The cabin elements in Scala will be taken from Nissan Sunny, while the engine options would be both diesel and petrol. The power and fuel economy figures would be similar to Nissan Sunny as well.

Talking about the price tag, we are not sure as to where exactly it will land, but if it’s competing with Skoda Rapid, the car might come along with a sub-Rs. 10 lakh price. Getting under such cost, would certainly give the firm a good boost in its sales.

It would be certainly very interesting to see how Renault Scala performs in the market and how the car consumers react to its launch. When enquired about the official launch of Scala, the company remained mum on the topic for the time being. We hope that the official announcement is just around the corner.
