Skoda Citigo hatchback missed at Auto Expo

The highly anticipated compact hatchback Skoda Citigo could not make an appearance in the recent 2012 Auto Expo, sixth gizmo from the Skoda family. As per the expert’s presumptions it will get a massive acceptance in the Indian market if launched, there are no official words for its launching. The incredible engineering job of Czech automaker has again come in light that clearly reflects in Skoda Citigo.

The Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Zen Estilo, Renault Pulse, Hyundai i30 and its own sibling Volkswagen Up would be its main rivals. Citigo is available in three-door and five-door versions.

It is sharing the same designing platform with the Volkswagen Up but, still unique in itself. It is available in two engine options. Having powered by the 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder, and 12 valve MPI petrol engines this compact hatchback offers the best power of 60bhp and a torque of 95Nm. The Green Tec eco-friendly engine has average fuel consumption of 4.2 liter/100km and 4.3 liter/100 km respectively.

It meets the global emission norms and received the Euro five rating. There is ample accommodation room with 251 liters boot space that can be extended by adjustable rear seat up to 951 liters. It offers top speed of 160 mph. Skoda Citigo is first car from the segment that has been crowned with the title of ‘City Safe Drive’ by the company, having an automatic braking system.
