Skoda Citigo Sports launched
Volkswagen Up, along with its cousins Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo are cracking little hatchbacks which have been spawned on the same platform. When both Seat and Volkswagen have unleashed the sportier versions of their respective cars, Skoda was waiting to hit the nail when it’s hot. Finally, the Czech auto major has rendered the Citigo hatchback with a sporty look to feel the power and agility that comes with it. This racy sporty version of Skoda Citigo gets a series of cosmetic changes like lowered chassis, racing stripes and a set of spoilers. Under the bonnet, the technical specifications still remain the same, with Citigo Sport still deriving its power from 1 Liter, triple cylinder petrol engine generating 59Bhp output.

To further enumerate the changes adorning the vehicle to make it catchy, Skoda Citigo Sport includes a set of black 15-inch “Auriga” design alloy wheels, a racing stripe that runs from the bonnet to the hatch lid with fog lamps getting a smoked finish and tinted windows. The suspension has also been altered to allow the vehicle to sit lower, hugging the road, and with the stance getting low the Citigo is expected to give a fillip to its handling prowess. On the interiors side, the seating upholstery gets black and red color tones as standard, with the dash being finished in two tone- grey and black; the steering wheel is leather wrapped three spoke item and the handbrake also gets leather wrapping. The infotainment system is modernized and gets to 5 inch module that doubles up as a satellite navigation system. Skoda Citigo comes in both three door and five door guises and the sporty version is available in both the versions with paints job in Red, White and Black.

Now there is miniscule possibility of Skoda releasing the vehicle into our fast emerging car market, a similar fate is likely to be followed with Volkswagen UP!. In fact, the parent company Volkswagen is looking forward to launch a new low cost car brand suitable for the emerging markets like India and China though it would have been really great to see Citigo Sport dotting our streets.
