Skoda launches one more model of Octavia in Petrol variant
After successful launch of new Skoda Octavia almost a month ago, Skoda India, the Indian arm of Czech car maker Skoda Motors has launched one more model of Octavia in petrol variant named as Skoda Octavia 1.8 Ambition and has been offered with price tag of Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom price, Mumbai). The new model carries the same existing 1.8 litre turbo charged petrol engine which is integrated in 1.8 Elegance TSI AT, developing the power of 177.6 bhp and torque of 250 Nm. The engine is covered with seven speed DSG automatic gearbox.
It would be interested know that with an objective of making vehicle affordable to customers company has discontinued some of the features available in existing model of Skoda Octavia, these includes LED daytime running lights, adaptive front light system, comer function with front fog lights, headlight washer, front parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, side and curtain airbags, panoramic sunroof, memory settings for wing mirrors, 12 way electrically adjustable driver seat, cruise control and few more.
Earlier 1.8 TSI was offered only in Elegance model which is being sold with price tag of Rs. 18.81 lakh. The price of new 1.8 Ambition model is Rs. 2 lakh less than compared to Elegance TSI. Apart from discontinuing few features from new model company has continued features like climate control, upholstery, connectivity with Bluetooth, infotainment system, 16 inch alloy wheels etc. Company started booking this model and will release new sedan for sale sometimes during January 2014.
