Skoda plans hectic launch schedule for next three years
The Indian auto industry seems to have a rocking 2013. Almost all the car maker has laid down a hectic schedule next year and for the years to come. As per the information, the car maker will be launching a series of cars in the next three years. Skoda Yeti and Skoda Superb facelift will be the ones that will be launched next year and then there will be new car launches as well. It is expected that the Skoda Citigo launch will also be there in 2013 as Volkswagen will be launching its small car Up then.
The launch line up for the next three years will include some new offerings and some facelifts and there will be more surprises from the car maker as well. Next year will witness the first launch in the form of new Skoda Superb. This inaugural launch will be sometime in the mid next year. Equally important will be the launch of the new Skoda Octavia
(Known as Skoda Laura
in India). The launch of this car will be at the Geneva Show. Next to the Octavia will be the launch of its Estate/Station Wagon version. Then there will be the Octavia vRS launch.
Why Skoda is so aggressive for the next years is because it wants to be the major contributor to the overall sales of cars by its parent group Volkswagen that has set a target to sell 1.5 million cars by 2018. In 2013 itself, there will be Skoda Yeti’s new avatar apart from Skoda Citigo’s semi automatic version coming in. A high power 110 bhp version of the Citigo is also on the cards. New Rapid notchback is slated to be launching sometime in 2014. In 2015, the Superb will take a new avatar and the Yeti will get its senior.
