Looks like China will have to wait more for Skoda Rapid. Skoda is planning to launch the stylish and chic Skoda Rapid in China by March next year. The Chinese version of Skoda Rapid is actually based on Skoda Mission L and is expected to be placed between Skoda Fabia and Skoda Octavia also called Skoda Laura.

In China, Skoda will offer Rapid in 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre engines. When compared with the Indian variant of Rapid, here the sedan has a duo of 1.6 litre of engines. In China the engines are expected to be coupled with five-speed manual and six speed automatic gearbox.

The design of Skoda Rapid, China Version is based on Mission L as specified above. On the other hand, the fresh and sophisticated interiors of the car would complement the interiors of the car well. The front grille and the rear liftback design would take the stylishness of this sedan a couple of notches higher.

Skoda Engineers have been working hard on the sedan and hopefully interior wise as well the Skoda Rapid sedan would stand out of the crowd. At the Beijing Auto Show, the car maker showcased the Chinese variant of Skoda Rapid, which had a hint of European Rapid’s interiors.

However, when the sedan will actually go into productions, numerous features would be added and trimmed. The parent company of Skoda, Volkswagen is said to be working on an affordable sedan, which would be launched as a successor of 1980’s Jetta that was given the name of Santana.

Hopefully, Skoda will launch Rapid in China by March 2013 for sure. It would be exciting to see how the Chinese car lovers react to the launch and how does the Chinese car market welcome the sedan.
