Skoda to launch facelift Superb on February 10, 2014
Czech car maker Skoda has revealed that it will launch the facelift Superb in Indian car market on February 10, 2014. Prior to this launch company had unveiled the facelift Superb on the first day of Indian Auto Expo. The upcoming facelift will replace the existing Superb from market which made its debut in 2009.The major facelifts which have been offered in Skoda Superb are carried on exteriors and interiors of this sedan and company continues the same engine configuration in facelift. This means that its petrol variant will be empowered with same 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine churning the power of 158 bhp and torque of 250 Nm.
While the diesel guise will be offered with 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine creating the power of 138 bhp and torque of 320 Nm. Both the engines will be coated with six speed manual gear system with diesel variant being offered with option of six speed DSG transmission system. It is speculated that company will launch the D+ segment car in Indian car market with price tag in range of Rs. 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh and will compete against Passat from Volkswagen, Honda Accord, Nissan Teana and other cars in same segment.
Talking about the cosmetic changes made in the exteriors include new grille along with new grille, honeycomb shaped air intake, bi-xenon headlights. On the rear side new tail lamps have been given with LED graphics to give look to the rear portion followed by 56 litre notchback boot. While the interiors have been upgraded with dual tone colored leather upholstery. The major features offered in interiors include six-CD changes, rear parking sensor, electrically adjustable OVRMs, rain sensing wiper, touch screen infotainment system. The sedan is also bestowed with necessary safety measures including six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, cruise control and traction control.
