Skoda to launch two new SUVs, price below Yeti

It is when the world is vociferously sounding SUV, SUV; Skoda has decided to add new members to its family. As per reports, there will be two new SUV launches by Skoda and both these will be priced under the Skoda Yeti that is on sale currently. These will not only fill the vacuum Skoda has in the SUV family and it will also help the car maker in getting the advantage of the boom for SUVs. If the two new Skoda crossovers are launched in India, these will certainly be competing with the like of Renault Duster, Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio besides the upcoming SUVs Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha. As far as the name of the new Skoda SUV is concerned far guess say that it will be named Skoda Polar.

As per other details, the Skoda Polar will be just above 4 meters and thus it could not qualify for the excise concessions it could have if it had been under four meters long. Internationally, the new Skoda Crossover will be tempting Nissan Juke and Peugeot 2008 buyers to its side. It is also believed that the new SUV will have the same design and engineering as the Duster but will have smaller proportions and will not look as big as the Yeti. It will be another car based on the Volkswagen MQB Platform and thus will share its genes with Audi A3 that is also going to have its sedan sibling round the corner.
The new crossover SUVs by Skoda are also believed to have the guts to shatter the likes of entry-level SUVs in India such as Renault Duster and Mahindra Quanto. Meanwhile reports are also abuzz that Skoda is also finally thinking hard on the Skoda Citigo small car launch in India.
