Maruti India’ Japanese ally Suzuki has launched the tall boy car Wagon R in a new avatar. The 2013 model of the Wagon R is a total refreshed model and the striking thing about this is its mileage delivery of 28.8 kmpl. This is not only exceptional but is best in the class beating even Chevrolet Beat and Tata Nano or the Wagon R’s arch rival Hyundai Santro. It is believed that the after this Japan launch, the new Wagon R will be launched in India soon as the country is highly obsessed with mileage and pitching in a car that has this much mileage will mean bumper sales. It is expected that if this car comes to India, it will be the best mileage car and its running cost will be cheaper than any other diesel car.

With the new engineering in place Suzuki has also reduced the weight of the new Wagon R by 75 kilos and it is expected that this weight reduction will not only improve maneuverability but has also improved the mileage delivery. A look at the new Maruti car suggests that the car is a total revamp. The front is the place where one can see most of the changes and the car maker has given it somewhat SUV front with a large grille almost merging with the air dam. The headlamps are new and it is totally different from what we have in India. The sides are more straighter and boxy while the tear is straighter than the Indian Wagon R. The rear also gets new tail lamps and the boot lid has a new appearance.

The car runs on the K Series 660 cc three cylinder engine and in Japan it is available in an all wheel drive option as well. Looking at the mileage delivery by the new Wagon R, it seems that the car will not take much time in entering Indian market as Maruti knows that the nation is highly appreciates cars with high mileage.
