Tata Indica MPV caught and clicked!
After rolling out a number of different segment vehicles from its iconic Indica platform, the Indian auto giant Tata Motors is reportedly planning to launch an all new MPV (multi purpose vehicle) based on this platform. A test mule of Tata Indica MPV was recently spotted near Pune, indicating that the preparations of the launch of this model in India have been commenced at Tata Camp.
The back portion of the vehicle was hidden majorly in cover when the vehicle was spotted. Thus the majority of the details are still unknown about the vehicle. However, a few details have already started doing rounds in the market including a flatter roof, tail lights somewhat similar to the firm’s popular X Mas tree tail lights design. Moreover, the company may offer best in class interior space and low maintenance cost assurance, to make this vehicle popular for the tour & travel and fleet sales segment.

However, there hasn’t been any official announcement or even an indication from the company’s side regarding the launch date and specifications of the Tata Indica MPV in the Indian market.
The Indica Platform has been one of the most diversified platforms of Tata Motors in the Indian market. The company has already launched a number of different segment vehicles based on this platform including the likes of hatchback Tata Indica, sedan version of Tata Indica, followed by an estate segment vehicle on the same platform.
It has been speculated that the new Tata Indica MPV will come powered by an in-house engine of the company, instead of a Fiat sourced multijet engine.
