Tata Launches Compact Sedan Tigor, Price Starts from Rs. 4.7 Lakh
Domestic car maker Tata Motors has finally launched the compact sedan Tigor in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 4.7 lakh for the base variant and going high up-to Rs. 7.09 lakh for the top end variant, both the prices are ex-showroom prices New Delhi. Mechanically, it receives 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.05 litre diesel engine. It would be interested to know that going through the cut-throat competition between the existing players in the segment, Tata Motors has priced Tigor at slightly lesser price than compared to Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Swift and Baleno.
The petrol variant generates the power of 85 PS and torque of 114Nm, while diesel develops the power of 70 PS and torque 140Nm, the transmission duties in both the engines are performed by five speed manual gearbox system. As far as AMT transmission is concerned it is speculated that going through the recent launch of AMT transmission system in Tiago hatchback, home grown car maker might soon introduce AMT transmission also in Tigor.
Although, Tata has developed Tigor on the same platform as used in Tiago, but to make it look different from its siblings it has introduced some distinctive features in form of enlarged wheelbase to offer extra space for legroom. Inside the cabin also it receives the same treatment, but sports features like Harman music system, touchscreen infotainment system and few more. The top end variant is reported to adorn features like rear view camera, automatic climate control along with 24 storage spaces. With options of six colors it has been offered in four trims namely XE, XT, XZ and XZ (O).
