Tata launches Zest, priced Rs. 4.64 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Finally the wait of about six months came to end with launch of Tata’s highly speculated compact sedan Zest today in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 4.64 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi). The sedan has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants comprising of overall nine trims in both variants. The petrol comprises of four trims while the diesel variant carries five trims followed with Automated Manual Transmission System, which has been introduced for first time in any compact sedan.
Developed on company’s X1 platform the petrol variant is equipped with 1.2 litre turbocharged Revotron engine boosting the power of 84 bhp and torque of 140Nm. On the other side diesel variant is empowered with 1.3 litre Quadrajet diesel engine producing two power tunes of 75 bhp and 90 bhp followed by torque of 190 Nm and 200 Nm respectively. The petrol variant is coated with five speed manual gearbox while the diesel variant is mated with Automated Manual Transmission System also called as F-Tronic gearbox system.
The nine trims offered in both petrol and diesel variants have been named as XE, XM, XMS, XT and XMA. Of these different trims first four trims are common in both versions while the last XMA trim is available in diesel variant and is coated with five speed AMT versions. The compact sedan sports list of various interesting features including Harman touch screen infotainment system offered in XT version of both petrol and diesel versions. Other impressive features offered in Zest are power windows, electrically adjustable OVRMs, rear parking sensors, dual tone interiors, day night adjustable rear view mirrors, door coordinated cabin lights and many more.
