Tata Motors about to launch Safari Storme, Nano sales quintupled in August
If a sincere comparison between car sales in August is made, Tata Motors has done pretty well specially when the top two car makers Maruti and Hyundai are in red. As per the sales figures by Tata Motors, it has registered an increase of 12 percent in sales in August. The total Tata Motors vehicle sales stood at 71826 units. In passenger cars in India, Tata registered an increase of 33 percent mostly due to the overwhelming sales of Tata Nano. The other Tata cars such as Tata Indica and SUVs have also done well in their respective segments.

Notably, Tata’s commercial and passenger vehicle sales cumulatively grew by 13 per cent in August compared to the same period last year. The total number of passenger cars sold by Tata were 22,311 units while Nano sales have registered a five fold increase from 1202 units in August 2011 to 6507 units this August. The Indica range cars that includes Tata Indica, Tata Indica Vista registered a marginal increase by 5 percent over last year. Meanwhile Tata SUVs including the iconic car Tata Safari, Tata Sumo and Tata Aria along with people mover Tata Venture received a 38 percent thrust in sales compared to August last year. The rise in Tata Nano sales is the most significant aspect of Tata cars sales as the car has always awaited for a miracle to happen and it was only once in March that the car was able to touch its mighty figure of 10k per month sales. Since then the car is not able to cross 8k sales and now Tata has decided Nano launch in other parts of the globe. Meanwhile, reports regarding the Tata Nano CNG and Tata Nano Diesel have become commonplace. However, with no new offering since long, this growth seems to be highly commendable. All eyes are now on Tata Safari Storme that is about to launch this month.
