Tata Safari Storme automatic gearbox version may land in India

Last month, Tata Motors showcased the stunning Tata Safari Storme at the Auto Expo Delhi. Recently, this car has been spotted on the outskirts of Goa and Maharastra. It is speculated that Tata might introduce Safari Storme in automatic transmission that can really be a great instinct to grab more attention of both domestic and international buyers.

Showcased at the Auto Expo, the Safari storme had 6 speed automatic transmission which features tip-tronic gear taken in along with 3 modes i.e. the sport, the economy and the cruise. Moreover, it is expected to have torque converter which will multiply the low end torque thereby, allowing you to drive with ease at a slow speed of around 6 – 8 km/h. Tata is working on the concept to introduce this car with Electronic Shift On the Fly (ESOF) feature which will enable the rider to switch from 2WD mode to 4WD mode, even when the vehicle is moving.

The entire Safari Storme fleet is expected to have 2.2 liter DICOR engine that will have efficiency to produce peak power of 140 PS with its maximum torque being 320 Nm. Furthermore, it will be available in both 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmission options.

The new Safari is build on a new platform somewhat similar to Tata Aria platform which will enable it to have précised turning radius of mere 5.4 meters, in addition with ground clearance of 200 mm. Exteriors of new Safari Storme are going to be enchanted by its broad new projector head lights. The rear styling will have twin chrome exhausts that will add on the sportiness and spare wheel would be placed beneath the chassis.

Interiors of Storme will be comprised of premium beige leather seats with contrasting leather wrapped steering wheel, totally new instrument cluster, chrome touch on the gear shift knob, chrome finish on the speaker grills and chrome finished inside door handles. To cater ample of comfort features, Safari Storme will have features like front seats with lumbar support, Dual AC vents along with roof mounted vents, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity etc.
