Indian car maker Tata Motors seems to have made all the preparations for the Tata Safari Storme launch soon. A next month launch is what is expected. Now that the Renault Duster is eating away Safari sales share, it is quite an urgency for Tata to launch the Safari Storme. The new expected price tag of Rs 8.5 lakh that the Storme is believed to take will enable it to set its things right and it will be then become an offering better than the Mahindra Scorpio and the Mahindra XUV 500. Meanwhile, it seems to be high time for the Safari Storme launch as it has been almost more than seven months after it was unveiled at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in January.

The 2179 cc DiCOR engine will be the unique selling point of this SUV besides the awesome modern looks and interior comfort. The engine will give 140 bhp power to the new Tata SUV and this will be at 4000 rpm. A conventional five speed gearbox is expected to continue to the Storme as well and there is no rumor of an upgrade in the transmission system. The new Safari will be shedding its boxy image and will have a more modern look even if it preserves the three boxes. Overall, the big macho SUV Safari’s new avatar has put on a garb that is abreast with the modern philosophy of cars.

It is expected that the new Storme will set things right as the existing Safari sales is dwindling after some dampening factors such as the launch of Duster and prior to that the launch of Maruti Ertiga MUV that has pulled down SUV buyers towards itself. The new Storme is also believed to put some sheen back to the car maker that seems to be dormant for quite some time with no happening except the reports about the Tata Nano Diesel coming up. Where Maruti has launched the new Swift, Swift Dzire and Ertiga this year and will be launching the Maruti XA Alpha this year, Tata Motors has set in focus only the Storme launch.
