The Tata Safari fans will not have to wait for long for the launch of Tata Safari Storme, which is the second variant of Tata Safari. If the sources are to be believed, the Tata Safari Storme is expected to hit the showroom by the end of June or in the first week of July. The Tata Motors is yet to announce the date of Tata Safari Storme launch formally. But, media reports suggest that Tata Safari Storme would hit the road within few weeks. The difference between Tata Safari and Safari Storme would be its size and weight.

Tata Safari Storme would be larger and it would not be heavier than Safari. So, there would be more space in the new variant of the Tata Safari. Safari Storme has already been shown in 2012 Auto Expo, which attracted eyes of Tata Safari fans. Tata Motor would continue manufacturing of current Safari and it has no plans to withdraw the current Safari model from the market. It has plans to offer Safari Storme in slightly higher prices than the current model of Safari. The company would make available Safari Storme in the range of Rs 9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. Tata Safari would be slightly cheaper as it would be sold between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 9 lakh.

Since the date of launch drawing nearer, Tata Motors has started manufacturing Tata Safari Storme. It will be built using hydroformed body-on-ladder chassis, it will have smaller turning radius of 5.4 metres and it will be made available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive guises. It would have an edge over Tata Safari in many ways as it will have better plastic trim apart from a lot of other features on the outside and inside of the car. The seven-seater Safari Strome would compete with Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra XUV 500, Force One SUV and lot of other SUVs in the segment. It will be powered by 2.2 litre Dicor motor.
