Tata Motors are now concentrating to compile its vehicles into separate brands in order to avoid the clash among them. As a result, the Tata Sumo Grande will now be called as Tata Grande DICOR, in past also the same has been applied like Tata Indigo Manza and Tata Indica Vista, currently known as Tata Manza and Tata Vista respectively.

As the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) hasn’t arrived with any major changes apart from the visible facelift and basic exterior changes, this might be the cause behind the Grande didn’t saw any official roll out. The Tata Grande exteriors in the front consists of a chromed grille along with side finishers, ORVM with inbuilt turn indicators, rub-rails of chrome, door handles with chrome finish and lastly the graphics which aren’t too alluring.

Coming to the interior part the usual comfy and cozy seats remain intact, with two-captain seats, a 3-seater bench format and 2-seater in the rear available in 7-seater and 8-seater arrangements. For the second and third line, rear AC vents are provided which leads to a very delightful experience in the Grande.

In the engine compartment then services are contributed by the tested 2.2L DICOR common rail turbo diesel engine, capable to generate a top power of 120 bhp and 250 Nm of top torque, which gives a tough ride to rivals Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. A 2.0L, 90 bhp turbo diesel engine is also offered by Tata for BS III cities and towns. But the MPV with 2.2L DICOR engine counts true value for money we pay as the base level of Grande starts with Rs 7.1 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom Delhi), wrapped with a three year-100,000 km warranty, which can be extended to four year-150,000 km warranty.
