Tata Tiago starts at Rs. 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
Finally the wait for highly anticipated and awaited hatchback Tiago from domestic car maker Tata Motors came to end today by its launch with starting price of Rs. 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for base variant and going to Rs. 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for top end variant. Interestingly lots of things have been already be disclosed on different platforms about Tiago since it was named as Zica, which was later changed into Tiago due to impact Zika virus in different countries during the beginning of this year.
Developed on car makers XO platform, Tiago has been promoted as an advanced version of Indica hatchback, but now after the car debuted in Indian car market it looks much better and eye catchy than its elder sibling. The power train offered in Tiago includes 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine that develops the power of 84 bhp and torque of 114Nm, whereas the diesel variant is energized with 1.05 litre Revotorq diesel engine churning the power of 67 bhp and torque of 139Nm. Both the engines are mated with five speed manual gear transmission system, it is however reported that AMT version of Tiago is also slated for launch in coming months. It will be available in overall five trims XB, XE, XM, XT, and XZ.
As far as looks of Tiago are concerned at first instance it completely looks like its predecessor Indica but does not carry any resemblance to it in any terms. The front fascia receives signature honeycomb grille extending up to newly developed headlamps. The front bumper sports large air dam, followed by fog lamps with chrome surroundings. The side profile adorns character lines, sporty alloy wheels and dual colored ORVMs. The rear profile receives designer LED tail lamps, stylish rear bumper with centralized plastic cladding. Inside the cabin it carries same appearance as offered in Zest which can be witnessed from three spoke steering audio and telephony controls, centre console, dual black and grey colored stitching treatment etc. The interiors also embellish ConnectNext Infotainment system from Harman that supports connectivity with USB, Bluetooth and AUX.
