Terrano from Nissan launched with price tag of Rs. 9.58 lakh
Inspired from the success of its sibling Renault Duster, Japanese auto giant Nissan has also launched its highly awaited Terrano in Indian car market on October 9, 2013 with price tag of Rs. 9.58 (ex-showroom price in Chennai). It would be interested to know that Nissan has priced Terrano costlier than its sibling Duster varying from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 depending upon the variant purchased by customer.
Nissan has launched 7 variants of 7 variants of terrano including one variant of petrol and six diesel variants. The petrol variant is energized with 1.6 litre petrol engine developing the power of 102 bhp and torque of 145 Nm, the diesel variant is empowered with 1.5 litre diesel engine and is offered with two options of power one generating power of 85 bhp and the other one generating the power of 110 bhp. The both petrol and diesel variant that generates power of 85 bhp are offered with five speed manual transmission gearbox whereas the variant generating power of 110 bhp has been offered with six speed manual gearbox. As far as the technical feature adorned in Terrano are concerned they completely taken from Duster, it is only their look which differentiates them.
Talking about the exterior looks of Terrano, it has been designed with new bumper, headlamps, honeycomb grille followed by large logo of Nissan. The front fascia is similar to X-Trail another SUV from Nissan. Whereas the rear have been developed with split light feature wherein the below portion of lights have been placed at bootlid. Talking about the interiors although they quite resemble to Duster, but still Nissan has endeavored to integrate superior accessories which include high defined music system, newly designed central AC vents. Apart from this the high end variants have been adorned with ABS, EBD, brake assist and air bags on driver side are integrated except the XE base variant. The last top end variant has been offered with two airbags, rear parking sensors, leather covered gear knob and steering wheel and finally high quality leather seats.
