The first major global recall this year is by Toyota. The Japanese car maker has recalled over 1.3 million cars that includes over 7.52 lakh Toyota Corolla and Toyota Corolla Matrix in the United States. It appears that Toyota Kirloskar Motors didn’t have a good time in December 2012. The sales of the company for last month tumbled down by 24%. The company sold merely 12,071 units of Toyota cars, which were 15,948 units of sales in December 2011. However, it is quite a well-known fact the 2012 was a slow year for the passenger car segment. But at the same time, there were many car companies, which managed to score high marks in terms of sales and resulted in positive sales growth in 2012.
