Toyota Etios Liva to have 90 bhp power plant soon
A new hot hatch is going to hit the Indian car bazaar soon and this time it is Toyota Etios Liva 1.5 L car. Expected to borrow the engine from its sedan sibling Toyota Etios, the Etios Liva will have 90 bhp under the hood and that means immense power to make this hatch climb to a 100 kmph mark in just few seconds. In addition to this, informed sources reveal that the TRD Sportivo body styling will also be copied on to the Liva 1.5 L car and this means that stepping up not just the power but the looks and styling as well. The price details of the Liva 1.5 are not known as of yet but there could an appreciation of over Rs 60,000 more on the standard version in order to experience the looks and the feel the power within the new Toyota car.
Apart from the new engine, the suspension will also be tuned to sustain the extra power and behave accordingly. Thus not just the engine but the body suspension will also get a boost with some new coils and springs to make the ride easier on the road. Already the Liva has the TRD Sportivo body kit styling available which was only sportier in looks but now the car is all set to have a real powerful treatment. 90 bhp is enough power for any hatchback. But the downside is that the 1.5 L engine that Toyota is soon to plant under the hood of Liva runs on petrol. Thus the mileage seekers will not even look at it but it will be the prized possession of those who want to feel the power being behind the wheel of this car.
In the recent months there has been a flood of powerful hatchbacks. First it was Fiat Punto that came up with 90 bhp diesel model Fiat Punto Sport and then recently Tata has come up with Tata Vista D90. Now, it is believed that Maruti will also hasten the launch of Maruti Swift Sport in India to compete with the rising genre of 90 bhp cars.
