Toyota Innova Crysta coming in petrol variant
After successful launch of MPV Innova completely in new Avatar as Innova Crysta by Japanese car maker Toyota Motors in diesel variant, car maker is now working on bringing its petrol variant enriched with 2.7 litre petrol engine. The engine empowered in petrol variant of Innova Crysta would be same as offered in its erstwhile version, although going through excessive demand for diesel variant petrol variant could not enjoy the excepted success. But now going through restriction on driving of diesel vehicles with more than 2,000 cc displacement capacity car maker feels introduction of new petrol variant in Crysta will succeed in driving car enthusiasts towards it. The Toyota Innova Crysta in petrol variant is expected to be launched during festive season this year.
Innova Crysta in petrol version is already on sale in Indonesian car market where it is sold by name of Kijang Innova and is enriched with 2.0 litre petrol engine. Interestingly Indian car market would be the first market to get Innova Crysta empowered with 2.7 litre petrol engine. According to reports the diesel variant of Innova Crysta has also succeeded in receiving an over whelming response from car enthusiasts throughout the country and since its launch earlier this month Toyota Innova Crysta has received more 15,000 bookings with 60 percent buyers opting for automatic trim.
According to Mr. N. Raja, Director and Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Toyota Kirloskar Motors, "We have seen our sales coming down by 800 units a month in Delhi since December after the Supreme Court ban. To address this issue, we have fast tracked the development of a 2.7 litre petrol engine. Our R&D engineers in Japan are working on the new engine. We plan to launch the petrol variant of Innova Crysta in Delhi-NCR markets by Diwali this year”.
