Toyota Innova Crysta launched, priced Rs. 13.84 lakh
Denying all earlier speculations and rumors regarding launch of the new avatar of its MPV Innova to be christened as Innova Crysta sometimes during the second week of this month, Japanese car maker Toyota has launched it surprisingly in Indian car market on May 2, 2016 with starting price of Rs. 13.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new Innova Crysta has been offered with two engine options in diesel disguise comprising of four trims namely Zx, Vx, Gx & G. Among these four trims Zx and Gx would be offered with automatic transmission system.
It is almost after a decade that this best selling MPV by car maker has undergone vast upgrades and carries most of its cues from Corolla Altis and Camry. Developed completely on new platform Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) under the hood two diesel engine options are 2.4 litre and 2.8 litre boosting the power and torque of 147 bhp and 343 Nm and 171 bhp and 360Nm respectively. The former is mated with five speed manual gear box system while the later receives six speed automatic transmission system.
The front fascia receives enlarged bonnet, dual slated chrome garnished front grille, new bumper, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, and new fog lamps. The side and rear profile continues most of its features from the existing version of Toyota Innova. Moving inside the cabin you will find 4.2 inch TFT multi information display system, 7 inch touchsreen system with DVD player, air conditioner vents for second and third seat passengers etc. On the safety front it bestows three airbags (for front driver, front passenger and drive knee) and ABS+EBD as standard feature on all trims. The top end variant bestows 7 airbags and few more.
