Toyota Motors Optimist about substantial growth during this FY
Clocking a growth of about 12 per cent in June after a slide, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), is expecting a growth of six to seven per cent during 2014, a top official said today. The company, which registered a decline in sales in January-April this year, witnessed a marginal increase in May last and expects sales to grow by six to seven per cent this year, N Raja, Director and senior Vice-President, TKM, told reporters here.
The company sold 900 units of newly relaunched Corolla Altis in June, with a waiting period of two months, he said. "The positive feeling is back. But growth will be only in single digits," he said. "Footfalls have improved at our showrooms. The customer confidence is slowly coming back. We are waiting for the festive season, starting from Onam, Navarathri and Deepavali," Raja said. He said the company has no plans to increase capacity at existing plants as it is enough to cater to existing demand.
