Upcoming Nissan Sunny to be powered with 1.5L petrol engine

Nissan Sunny, the upcoming mid-size sedan that was recently unveiled at the country, is reported to come powered with a 1.5L petrol engine. The new 1.5L petrol power train will be smaller as compared to the 1.6L unit company is currently using in this car in the American market. The move of Japanese car maker shows similarity with the Ford’s decision of replacing 1.6L petrol engine with new 1.5L engine in the recently unveiled Ford Fiesta. The smaller the engine will be, the higher it will offer the fuel economy.

It is also expected that after launching the petrol version in the country and analyzing the response of the Indian buyers, the company could come-out with a diesel version in the second half of the year 2012. This could be the same diesel engine the company is using in the diesel version of the existing compact hatchback Nissan Micra.
