Upcoming SUVs worth waiting for
The SUV market in India already heating up even before the scorching sun is above. All due to the eager wait for three of the most sought after SUVs viz. Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport. Where the first one is a full grown homegrown SUV and quite similar to the already available Tata Safari, the latter two are no less inferior. French car Renault Duster which is scheduled to be launched in June this year is just over four meters and will have a price tag of Rs 8.5 lakh. Meanwhile the Ford Ecosport that has broken all barriers of anticipation and is launching sometime around the same period as Duster launch and is expected to have the same price tag.

So will these three SUVs make any difference to the market that already has three offerings from Mahindra stable viz. Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV 500. The answer certainly is yes as these the French and the American SUV is expected to be priced attractively just above Mahindra Bolero and thus this increase their prospects being entry level SUVs. Whereas the Tata Safari Storme which was unveiled at the Auto Expo is believed to be sold at Rs 14 lakh after its launch and thus will be having a duel with similarly priced SUVs in India.

However, the centre of attraction is the Renault Duster and the Ford Ecosport not just because of their size and the expected price tag but due to their features and specifications. Where Duster will be launched in all diesel powered models with 80 bhp engine under the hood, Ford Ecosport could also test its might with the petrol model as well. Hoped to be launched in diesel and petrol options, the Ford Ecosport SUV will have the up market design and is expected to repeat the history that it has created in Brazil where it was born.
