Volkswagen and its brands are on the verge to hold Indian market
Volkswagen made an unfortunate entry in India as a brand in the year 2008, the Germany based giant was actually unknown to the country’s car buyers as result it couldn’t make an outstanding effect of its presence as it had on the European auto market. Volkswagen Group has many famous premium luxury brands under its name such as Audi, Skoda, Bentley and Lamborghini to name a few, along with Volkswagen itself as a brand. Although it had Skoda brand in India; which was introduced by parent company Volkswagen a decade ago, but still it lacked a sort of faith among its Indian consumers; as they don’t trust the unknowns.
Being a carmaker in India, one should understand the needs and demands of the customer, in order to achieve some heights of triumph. Time passed on and the company in the meantime developed strategies after closely studying the Indian auto market. This will be the fourth year for the Europe’s largest automaker; Volkswagen, in India and it all in front of us, that it had made sales of more than one lakh vehicles till the October end.
The brand flourished with its seven models that consist of compact SUVs, hatchbacks and luxury sedans. Currently the German major grips a market share of 3.5 percent and strengthening day after day.
Volkswagen and Audi both hit the India shores in the year 2007, now the group had three of its brands in India including Skoda. These three in cooperation created a one of its kind position in the nation’s auto market with their extraordinary market research; which focused on the need of consumer in India conditions.
The current phase in the auto sector is sure to go off very soon, and again it will witness the roar for more demand, in terms of sales. The brand possesses everything in its kitty, required by customer in the nation from small car to monstrous crossover, and with all this the coming times belongs to German marquee. The Volkswagen Group is gearing up to debut its Spanish brand SEAT soon in India with its first vehicle SEAT Mii; a compact car.
