Volkswagen Cross Up unveiled, showcase at the Geneva Show
Small car Volkswagen Up is all set be joined by its crossover variant. The VW Cross up car has been reveled just ahead of its official unveil at the Geneva Motor Show to be held in March this year. This small car has taken the three and five door variants shape already and now the car maker has come up with the crossover variant. In addition to a powerful engine, the suspension has also been tuned to take on the challenges by the terrain. Though at the concept stage as of yet, there are some strong hints coming in that the car has already gone into production channel and it could be possible that VW launches it in the near future.
Two of these cars from VW stable – VW Up and Skoda Citigo are highly anticipated in the country but there has been no confirmation as of yet regarding the launch. Now that its crossover version is in the lineup, it is highly anticipated that if ever Volkswagen launches the up in India, it will surely be bringing the entire line up here. The only factor that detains VW from bringing this car to India is the price of the car as well as the feasibility to launch this in the country. VW seems to be skeptic about the success of this car and had reportedly carried out some study regarding the demand for this car.
In order to imbibe true crossover features, the car maker has put in new interior styling with a combination of sporty red and black. There is chrome finish on the outside on the exterior mirrors as well as on the bumpers. Under the hood, the car has 1L 74 bhp petrol motor. 16 inch alloy wheels take care of the ground clearance as well as the turf. The price of the car is expected to be in an Indian Rupee equivalent of Rs 10 lakh.
