Will Honda Amaze Diesel surpasses Swift Dzire Diesel?
Now that Honda India has made it official that Honda Amaze will launch in India in April 2013, the comparisons have already begun. Everyone knows that with Honda Brio Amaze, Honda will debut its 1.5-Litre diesel engine into the Indian car bazaar. Therefore, this makes Brio sedan a major competitor to Maruti Swift Dzire, which is already available in both diesel and petrol version. Starting with the price tag, Maruti Swift Dzire diesel starts from a price tag of Rs. 5.99 lakh, while if we consider the price of Amaze launched in Thailand, it is around Rs. 8.2 lakh. However as per the latest reports Honda will use high local content in the Amaze that will allow it to price competitively.
Coming to the main part, which is engine and mileage. Both are going neck to neck. Amaze will come powered by 1.5 litre diesel engine, which promises to deliver superior fuel efficiency of 24 kmpl. On the other hand, Maruti Swift Dzire has 1.3-Litre diesel engine, which helps the car to deliver a mileage of around 23.4 kmpl.
The exteriors of Honda Amaze Brio are fresh and exciting, while Maruti Swift Dzire has decent exteriors, but the rear end is a bit bulgy. Therefore, Amaze’s freshness and new design makes it high score on the scoreboard. Finally the interiors of Brio Amaze are comfortable and impressive, featuring numerous comfort and safety features; whereas Swift Dzire is not lagging behind and sports many inspiring comfort features, leaving the competition much tighter and tougher.
Comparing both Swift Dzire and yet to be launched Honda Brio Amaze, it turns out that it would be the clash of the titans in the Indian car market this time. And if Honda succeeds in making the price competitive, it might acquire the top position in the segment.
