Hyundai, the Korean car maker has made a niche for itself in the Indian car market. Hyundai has two of the most popular cars in India in the small car segment. One of these is the Hyundai i10 hatchback which can be seen easily running on roads. Hyundai i10 is present in the domestic market for quite some time now and gives a tough competition to its rivals in its segment. It has austere looks, decent interiors and is proffered in various trim levels. Hyundai i10 Sportz AT GLS is one of the top rated trims from the range of Hyundai i10.

It is a tad high in luxury and style quotient, as the name suggests the engine is mated to an automatic transmission which makes the whole difference. Very few cars are proffered with automatic transmission in this segment and Hyundai i10 is one such hatchback. A powerful 1197 cc, 1.2 litre, Kappa2 petrol engine is housed in the hatchback generating a maximum power of 80 PS at 6000 Rpm and a peak torque of 11.4 kgm at 4000 Rpm.

The hatchback comes with a fuel tank capacity of 35 litres. The mileage figures in city conditions is not that impressive though, only 12.8 kmpl is reported to be delivered by Hyundai i10 Sportz AT GLS which is a little low. While if you are driving the hatchback on highways, it could be driven to 16.5 kms on a litre of petrol.

Acceleration and pick up figures suggest that the car can sprint from 0 to 100 within 11.5 seconds which is much better than its rivals in the same segment and can also reach a top speed of 162 kmph. Hyundai i10 Sportz AT GLS price is placed on a higher side, but still a lot of features do not come standard in this auto box trim. One still has to splurge money to get some of the important features affixed like alloy wheels which are absent in this trim. Front passenger airbag and anti-lock brake system are also not proffered in this trim which are also an important safety features.

Cup holders are given only in the front side and not in the rear side of the hatchback. Remote trunk is also absent while remote fuel lid opener is present in the hatchback. Power windows are present in both front and rear, an effective air conditioner along with power steering is present in the interiors. CD player, driver airbag and central locking are some of the other important features that are proffered in this trim.

It is very good start by Hyundai that it has offered automatic transmission system in mid range hatchback. With it, it is too very good that this AT option is available in top-end and mid variants which increase the customer choice. At a price tag of Rs 5.20 (Ex-showroom Delhi) the company is offering trouble free....
