Maruti Ritz VDI ABS Overview

Maruti Ritz recently got a facelift and now sports better looks specially the rear for which it usually received criticism.  The hatchback has spacious interiors along with a roomier boot to store luggage of the passengers. The new and improved Ritz is all set to take the car’s popularity to a new level, the better design and new features make it worthwhile. The hatchback is available in both petrol and diesel engine options; however diesel variant is more popular due to the low cost of the fuel. Maruti Ritz VDi ABS, as the name suggests comes equipped with the Anti-Lock Brake System safety feature.

Maruti Ritz VDi ABS is armed with a DDiS Multijet diesel engine with a displacement of 1248 cc. The diesel mill is capable of producing a high power of 75 PS at 4000 Rpm along with a maximum torque of 190 Nm at 2000 Rpm. Mated to a five speed manual transmission, the hatchback comes with a fuel tank capacity of 43 litres. The diesel trim comes equipped with a number of comfort and convenience features which include an effective air conditioner to keep the passengers sitting in the front and at the rear cool. Power steering is also present in this trim, apart from this power windows are given at the front and rear side of the hatchback. Presence of rear seat headrest makes it cosy for the passengers sitting at the back, Cup holders are also given but only in the front side. Rear seats can be folded to make extra space at the back, remote trunk, remote fuel lid opener, height adjustable front seat belts are some of the other comfort and convenience features present in the VDi ABS trim of the hatchback.

Presence of diesel engine enables the hatchback to return good fuel economy in the city conditions and on highways too. In city the VDi ABS trim delivers a high fuel economy of 17 kmpl while on highways it runs 21.1 kmpl.
 
The interiors are roomier and can easily accommodate five adults comfortably inside. The interiors are done in dual tone that gives it a somber look. Other features like fabric door trim, front door pockets, tachometer, electronic multi-tripmeter, digital odometer, accessory power outlet, low fuel warning light and digital clock are some of the other features present in the interiors. However, lack of a CD player does pinch as one has to spend extra money apart from the usual price to get it affixed in the hatchback.

Maruti Ritz hatchback is known more for its rear design, the exterior features include halogen head lamps, fog lights which are affixed on both the front and rear side of the hatchback. Internally adjustable outside rear view mirror, body colored bumpers body colored door handles, body colored outside rear view mirrors are also equipped on the outside of the hatchback. Wheel covers, tinted glass and integrated antenna are other features present in the exterior front of the trim. However, alloy wheels are also not present in this trim.

The VDi ABS trim comes well equipped with important safety features like anti-lock brake system, electronic stability control and brake assist. Other basic safety features like central locking, power door locks, child safety locks, anti-theft alarm, antiglare rear view mirror, front seat belts, rear seat belts, seat belt warning, door ajar warning, side impact beams, front impact beams and engine immobilizer are also equipped in the VDi ABS trim.

Overall, the trim is a complete package that comes with chic interiors, decent exteriors, a host of good features incorporated inside along with a number of safety features equipped in the trim. Overall, reasonable Maruti Ritz VDI ABS price and greater fuel efficiency make it a worthy buy.
