Facelifts usually do better than the forerunners and this is precisely the case with Maruti’s Swift Dzire notchback. The new version of the notchback which was launched in India in the beginning of current year that is 2012 has been loved immensely by the Indian customers. The new thing about this car is its shortened height which enabled the car maker to reduce its price. Maruti Swift Dzire is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol powered Dzire is proffered in three trim levels. The top end variant of this notchback, Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI comes equipped with a 1.2 litre, K-Series petrol engine with VVT technology and which has an engine displacement of 1197 cc.

A high power of 87 PS at 6000 Rpm along with 114 Nm of torque at 4000 Rpm is what this engine is capable of generating. Available in manual transmission, Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI has a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres.

The new Dzire has enhanced looks which includes sharper and longer head lamps and tail lamps. A shorter boot that has petite space to store luggage, interiors have been done well that renders a lush look to the notchback. Basically the new Dzire is inspired from new Swift hatchback which made its entry in India last year in the month of August. Being a petrol car, it returns good fuel efficiency in city conditions as well as on highways. Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI mileage in city is around 15.1 kmpl which is extremely good for a sedan; however on highways it runs 19.1 kmpl which is again impressive. Acceleration and pick of Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI is quite decent as it sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 13.9 seconds and attains a top speed of 158 kmph.

Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI price is high due to its high end features. A powerful air conditioner which keeps the cabin cool even in scorching heat of India, power steering is also present in the notchback. Power windows both in the front and rear side of the vehicle are given. Cup holders are present in the front side of the notchback. Other features like remote trunk and remote fuel lid opener are also present. To make the exteriors look clean, alloy wheels have also been affixed on ZXI variant. CD player also comes standard in the ZXI trim. Among the safety features, driver airbag, front passenger airbag, anti-lock brake system and central locking are also incorporated in the Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI trim.
