Maruti SX4 ZDI Variant Review

Maruti Suzuki India has a number of vehicles in the hatchback segment; however in the sedan segment it does not have as many options as in the hatchback segment. Out of the few sedans that the company proffers to the Indian customers, Maruti SX4 is one that comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. Maruti SX4 diesel was launched in the Indian car market last year; it has been just one and a half years that the diesel variant of the sedan is available for sale.

Powered with a 16V DOHC, DDiS, 1248cc diesel motor, the sedan is mated to a manual transmission. The engine engenders 90 PS at 4000 Rpm and 200 Nm at 1750 Rpm. Maruti SX4 ZDI is the top end variant in the diesel range, the trim has a fuel tank capacity of 50 liters. Maruti SX4 ZDi price is placed a little higher since it the high end version of the sedan. Fuel economy numbers returned by the sedan are good enough, in city one can get 17.5 kmpl of fuel economy while on highways, the mileage number crosses 21.5 kmpl mark. The high fuel economy is delivered due to the presence of a diesel engine inside the hood. It takes the sedan to reach from 0 to 100 kmph in 17.1 seconds, also it attains a high speed of 174 kmph. Being the high end model of the SX4 sedan, the trim comes incorporated with a number of features like the air conditioner, power steering, power windows which are present in both front and rear side of the sedan.

Cup holders are also given in front and also in the rear side for the convenience of the passengers sitting at the back. Apart from these features, remote trunk, remote fuel lid opener is also given in this trim. Presence of alloy wheels make it look brighter and neater, a CD player is also affixed inside the interiors. Among the safety features, airbags are equipped in the driver seat and front passenger seat, anti-lock brake system is also equipped inside the sedan, central locking too is offered as standard in Maruti SX4 ZDi model.
