Toyota Kirloskar Motors India stepped into the hatchback segment of the Indian car bazaar with Toyota Etios Liva and since then it was never looking back for the firm. The car was rolled out in both petrol and diesel variants, which was a very smart decision by the company. The Toyota Etios Liva GD is the base diesel variant in the range and comprises of many crucial comfort features along with a high performing and fuel economic engine under the bonnet. But the competition for the hatchback is tough in the market and the major challengers to the car include in Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20 and Skoda Fabia.

Under the hood of Toyota Etios Liva GD a 1.4 litre, SOHC diesel engine measuring displacement of 1364cc is resting. This diesel mill has the capacity to produce maximum power of 68PS @ 3800rpm along with generating maximum torque of 170Nm @ 1800 to 2400rpm. The five speed manual transmission has been combined with the engine that takes the performance of the car to a next level and also the fuel economy is enhanced as compared to the petrol variant. On the city and highways, this engine comfortably gives out 18.5 to 23.5kmpl of mileage respectively. When accelerated, the hatchback keeps the power to touch the 100kmph mark in 10.5 seconds with a high speed of 165kmph.

I bought this car 6 wks ago. Have driven approx 2000 km since . Exteriors- Aerodynamic shape, nice appearance, good quality paint job. Overall nice (swift looks better) Interiors- Best interior space among all hatchbacks esp rear seat which can seat three comfortably. Comfortable seats with max knee room....
