Dear Sagar,

As your monthly running is around 500 km/month and you will own this car for around 5-6 years, it will be better to go for any petrol car. Diesel cars cost around 1 lakh more as compared to its petrol sibling and with this average running figure you could not recover the money you will put to buy the diesel car.

In the budget you have mentioned you can easily get the fully loaded top end petrol variant of Ford Figo named as Ford Figo Petrol Titanium. Hyundai i20 Magna or i20 Sportz will also be a good option for you.

Dear Sagar,

Ford Figo EXI Diesel has lesser features as compared to i20 Magna Petrol.

Ford Figo EXI Diesel has the same features as Ford Figo Petrol EXI except the diesel engine. If the features which come with EXI variant is sufficient for you then you should go for its petrol variant – I mean Ford Figo Petrol EXI which will cost around 4.06 lakh and you can save around 90,000 rupees.

You have mentioned that your budget is around 5-6 lakhs, I’ll suggest you to go for any petrol car which comes equipped with luxurious interiors and loaded with advanced features, instead of putting money in a diesel car. Also, the resale value of diesel cars is always lesser as compared to petrol car. As your monthly running will be around 500 kms, so it will always be a good idea to buy a more luxurious petrol car instead of any diesel model.

Thanks you very much Ramendra, I almost came to conclusion to go with petrol car with good features. I almost decided with I20 Magna but also TD Etios Liva (G). I like both the cars. I am almost decide to with I20 but considering i20 old on the road (from past 3 yr) and Liva is just new baby. So Confused. Also Liva FE is more than i20 . On your experiance can you please suggest shall I go for I20 Magna or Liva Petrol. Which will give more resale value and low maintance in the future.

Dear Sagar,

I'll suggest you to go for Hyundai i20 Magna. As per the sales report, Toyota Etios Liva has got very lesser number of buyers so there is a possibility that its resale value will be down, while Hyundai i20 is continously performing well on the Indian road so its resale value will be better. Also, the maintenance cost of Hyundai cars are lesser than Toyota cars.
