Chevrolet Sail – dream hatchback for India

Pros : Body design, powerful engine, quality interiors, lots of space and many comfort features

Cons : I feel that it is a good car, none for me

Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20 will get their toughest competitor in Chevrolet Sail 1.2L petrol variant priced between Rs. 5.5 to 6.5 lakhs. Though I like Maruti Swift for its appealing external design, powerful, fuel efficient engine and spaciousness, I have always been deterred by unreasonably expensive Hyundai i20. Now with the launch of Chevrolet Sail hatch, I think that a better option will be presented before all of us who wish to owe a hatchback that is packed with features and is also good looking and affordably priced. I also wish to upgrade my old Hyundai Santro with Sail hatchback.

I trust the Chevy brand because prior to this, Chevrolet has launched some really good and affordable small cars and good SUV’s in India. Chevrolet Spark is still one of the best small cars available in India. Therefore, expectations from Sail are even higher.

I have come to learn that Chevrolet Sail will flaunt a very efficient design, impact proof bumpers coupled with a fuel efficient engine and all these attributes will together support its flawless functioning on Indian roads. This really calls for applause. Amidst so many car launches, launch of a car that has taken into account the terrible road conditions of Indian cities is definitely admirable. I am also not least doubtful of the quality of interiors. It is expected that the car will be completely packed with great features as steering mounted controls, 360 degree AC vents, 60:40 foldable seats and music system with Bluetooth interface.

All in all, a great hatchback is on its way in form of Chevrolet Sail and I whole-heartedly recommend it to every prospective buyer.
