Ford is all set to stir the Indian SUV market with its all new astonishing SUV EcoSport. A futuristic design all set to excite Indian customers and is targeted towards the price conscious middle class segment that always looks forward to fuel efficient cars. The Company brought it in the Delhi International Auto Expo and in order to shake the Indian market they had revealed a teaser image. It would be first launch in India then company would take it globally through its worldwide chain.
EcoSport is powered with highly efficient 1.0 liter turbocharged eco boost engine and it’s a Ford’s B-platform based Sports utility vehicle. Company is also planning to launch it with a 90 BHP 1.5l turbo diesel engine but that will come with the top most variant. All Indian cars carry a 5 speed gear box so it would be a standard feature of EcoSport too. Taking Indian driving conditions into consideration, company has designed the petrol version to fetch 18 to 20 kms while diesel engine is expected to deliver 23 kms in city driving conditions.
EcoSport is a passenger utility vehicle based on the Ford’s famous Fusion crossover. Car is expected to be low on carbon emission and in our economy of ever roaring fuel prices it would a challenge posed in front of it to be easy on pocket and high on delivery. Ford India has expertise in analyzing the need and requirements of the Indian customer and they have proved their insight intelligence with the series of hits like Fiesta and Figo. So the expectations are real time high and it’s believed that they will live up to it.
