Compact and Shabby, Ford EcoSport
Pros : Mileage
Cons : Looks, Interior, Power and Price
Good day to you! This is Naman Tyagi from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and I am currently planning to buy a SUV or MUV in the budget of Rs. 9 – 11 lakh. I went into the detailing of cars like Maruti Ertiga, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari and finally I have opted to go for Scorpio. I am shocked with the details of Ecosport. First of all, Ford Ecosport is not at all convincing in terms of looks. Although, the globally introduced model of this car has some of the fluidic cues that make it look impressive, but the Ecosport which the company is planning to introduce in India has no such cosmetic grace in it.
Furthermore, the problem with the car is with its interior space. Only five occupants can sit in the car; however other utility cars in the same budget have more space with seating capacity for at least 7 passengers. The 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine of the car will be good in terms of fuel economy, but I think that its power would be not much impressive. If the company has introduced Ecosport as a compact crossover then they should also have boosted it with a powerful engine with at least 1.4 litre capacity.
It is expected that the price of Ecosport will be somewhere in the range of Rs. 9 – 11 lakh, but I think that at this price a buyer would wish to go for a giant crossover like Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari. The price of Ford EcoSport should be in the range of Rs. 6 – 8 lakh if Ford wishes to sell it in good numbers, otherwise overpricing might make it a flop crossover in the Indian market.
