Review For Ford Ecosport
Pros : New vehicle with promising fuel economy and solid engine
Cons : Need to wait till the SUV launches
Description :
As the launching date of Ford’s new generation EcoSport model is inching closer, my excitement to see and drive this car is getting more and more intense. How exciting it will be to see a 1.0L ecoboost engine delivering a massive power of 90 bhp, equivalent to the power outpoured by a 1.6L petrol engine in general.
More to it, despite generating this much power, the EcoSport Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is highly fuel efficient vehicle with mileage touching 25 km per liter. This means, the new Ford SUV is going to give a very tough fight to its competitors like Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Tata Aria and Maruti’s upcoming Ertiga MUV. Though the vehicle will be launched in a diesel version also but I m not very much interested in buying that one, as my daily usages are not more than 40 kms.
However, it remains to be seen that what price tag company puts on this compact SUV in the Indian market. While the expectations of industry analysts are that it will be shelved in the price segment of Rs 8 to 12 lakh, I will be overwhelmed if company keeps the price a bit lower at Rs 6 to 7 lakh, fairly in my budget.
Pretty excited to see the unveiling ceremony of this model at the Delhi International Auto Expo in the second week of January 2012. Following the mega success of the company’s compact hatchback Figo, the company is expecting that the new Ecoboost engine powered EcoSport model will take the success of Ford cars in the Indian market even further.
