The upcoming affordable compact SUV from Ford- the EcoSport
Pros : Fantastic stance, best in class fuel economy
Cons : To be found after its launch
Whenever the auto expo is held anywhere around the world I am very eager to know the new launches, especially the Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), but the launches or unveiling there have little or no connection with India as they are basically made for the foreign countries. This year my total focus is on compact SUV Ford Ecosport, as it will be displayed or may be launched by the company at 2012 Delhi auto expo.
Ecosport is really appealing vehicle from outside and inside and also promises good mileage along with being affordable and I hope to fit in my tight budget of Rs 8 to Rs 9 lakh. Though I was planning to buy a sedan, but when I heard about Ecosport at this lucrative price I shelved my plans for sedan and decided to wait for the SUV launch.
The major thing that caught my eye was its awesome appearance, I think it somewhat resembles to Ford Endeavour and more to the likes of Land Rover Range Rover SUV, especially in the front. I was amazed when I heard that it will be based on Ford Fiesta platform, that was the sedan I was about to opt.
It will offer 1.6L, 1.4L and 2.0L engine variants and I will go with the 1.4L diesel as it will surely fit my financial plans. Also, this lower capacity engine will be very fuel economical and I am expecting it to be around 20kmpl.
The interiors that I saw on some websites seem to be very decent and true value for money. There is no need to worry about the room as the main attraction of all Ford vehicles is enough space in the cabin and I have witnessed it in my friend’s Ford Figo.
