EON LPG – Lacks power but economical

Pros : Low cost of maintenance and driving

Cons : poor pick up, no stability, gear shift know vibration

After lot of research about small cars in the range of 3 – 4 lakh, I planned to buy Hyundai Eon D-Lite Plus LPG. My car has completed around 2 months and I think in some aspects, Hyundai Eon has not been much satisfactory. I would first share the positive factors of this car. I admire this car due to very low costing drive through LPG. It costs me around 1 Re. per Km. Furthermore, I have seen the maintenance chart of this car and the maintenance cost is somewhat par with the maintenance cost of Maruti Alto.

Now let us discuss the reality of this car. First of all this car has got dissatisfactory pick up that hinders its performance. Earlier, I thought that such low performance is due to excessive usage of LPG, but I was wrong, even when you drive on gasoline mode the performance is very low. Another problem in the Eon LPG is its instability on highways. I have driven Eon’s elder brother i10 and its stability was too good, but Eon lacks that kind of road group and stability. Even the brakes are not much good at a times which one of the risky factors of this little hatch. Another big problem in this car is of gear shift vibration. You can say that the gear shifting is notchy and you will feel excess of vibration in the gear shifting.
