My Hyundai Eon delivers a tad more mileage, try these tips
Pros : Good appearance, low price, comfortable space inside the cabin
Cons : Lack of safety features
I bought Hyundai Eon Era LPG this year in the beginning of January 2012. LPG version was a good option for me as, Hyundai Eon is a good looking car in its segment, and it has better looks than its arch rival Maruti Alto. Powered with a 814 cc, 0.8 litre LPG engine, the hatchback can pump out 56 Ps of power at 5500 RPM and a maximum torque of 75 Nm at 4000 RPM. The engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission and delivers a fuel economy of 14 kmpl in city conditions while on highway it runs 18 kmpl.
However if you follow certain tips, your car can deliver slightly more mileage, do not worry I will share these tips with you. Since I have tried these and have also seen slight increase in the fuel economy you should also try these. First tip is that sudden acceleration and hard braking should not be used often as it increases the fuel consumption by up to 40 per cent. Also driving in low speed at around 80km/h to 95 km/h also helps in improving the fuel consumption by 10 to 15 percent. If the oxygen sensor is working efficiently it can either increase or reduce the fuel efficiency by 40 per cent. This is it try these and see difference in your fuel economy I am sure that you will definitely see change in the mileage returned by your car.
Talking about the features of Hyundai Eon, it has air conditioner, power steering, power windows but only in front not in the rear side and central locking. Other safety features like ABS, airbags etc are absent in the hatchback. Eon is a good hatchback and at a time when inflation is at an all time high, this is an affordable hatchback. I am happy with my Hyundai Eon, when are you buying yours.
