Hyundai Verna is an impressive C segment sedan

Pros : Fluidic design, powerful engine and automatic transmission

I am a successful banker and have a keen interest in cars; my parents stay in Lucknow while I am placed in Delhi. My father still drives Maruti Esteem which he bought ten years back, on the occasion of his 60th birthday I would like to gift him a brand new car. I did go through the specifications of a couple of cars, since price is not a factor that is bothering me therefore I am looking for a smart stylish sedan that at the same time also offers good performance and features.

Amongst the couple of cars that I researched on internet, one car that caught my attention is Hyundai Verna Fluidic and specifically its 1.6 litre VTVT SX (o) AT trim that is quite impressive. During my research I got to know that this variant of Verna is powered with a 1599cc, 1.6 litre VTVT petrol engine that engenders a high power of 123 PS at 6300 RPM along with a maximum torque of 158 Nm at 4200 Rpm. The presence of automatic transmission makes this sedan a class apart, though initially driving automatic transmission is a little awkward as one is not habitual of driving it, but later it becomes easy.

A little disappointed on the fuel efficiency front as the car proffers fuel economy of 9.5 kmpl in city conditions and a delivers a fuel economy of 14.5 kmpl on highways. I was expecting a tad more than this, but that is fine it is not such a huge disappointment looking at the span of features that this sedan offers. Safety features which are the most important these days are present in the sedan making it a safe car to drive, price wise too I find the sedan quite affordable, Hyundai is offering a complete luxurious sedan at a not that high price. I am all set to go for a test drive and if all goes well this is soon going to be my dad’s birthday gift.
