Value your money, bring home Dzire
Pros : Safety features, noise-less engine, smooth pickup, superb mileage
Cons : Uninspiring looks
Maruti swift Dzire is not innovative in design and it didn’t appeal to me ever. It may be a sizeable family car, offering value for money but it isn’t something like a dream car. It is a compact sedan and its stylish bumpers, chromed front grill, alloy wheels, etc. has improved its exterior looks but has not made it look the best. It is built on a new platform but doesn’t look trendy. But considering that it was an affordable option and came with the reliability of Maruti Suzuki, I was almost coaxed by my family to buy it.
I owe a new Maruti swift Dzire VXi now. It had cost me somewhere around 5.40 lakhs on road and that’s pretty okay. This petrol variant comes with a 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine mated with 5-speed manual transmission. It churns out enough power to make the driving smooth and picks up from 0-100kmph in just 12.6 seconds.
What I admire most is that the engine is silent and makes no noise. The integrated audio music system is good and the most wonderful are the Electronic Central locking and keyless entry features. However, on the safety part, it is a nice car as well. There is an array of features included in this variant for safety, for instance, front dual SRS airbags, ELR seatbelts, ABS (Antilock Braking System), Brake Assist, EBD and an Engine Drag Control system.
Maruti swift Dzire require improving its looks further and so also the interiors. But in terms on engine efficiency, power and safety, it is one of the most inexpensive sedans on offering in the market, presently.
