Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, the Indian Queen
Pros : Decently priced making it best buy in class
Cons : Average looks is a disappointing characteristic
Jeez , at first glance the brand new Maruti Swift Dzire looked awkward geek to me but because of continuous pressure from my wife , finally we went to the near maruti dealer for a test drive again I was adamant to my first gesture but being she on top of my head I finally put my head into it. It was a really nice feeling, though the exteriors are not much impressive but interiors will really impress you a lot.
Well mated premium leather interiors with wooden trims of console and cluster. The back seat of the car avails the maximum pleasure to the passengers. It is a bit more angulated than the swift but the real change is the bigger windows on the rear door which gives it a bit more airy. Fully equipped dashboard with all the modern amenities in a pretty reasonable price makes it a car of choice. Still space is a premium and the Logan is much better here. Another plus point is the folding armrest provided on the VDI and ZDI; this really adds class and is a feature found lacking in costlier cars.
We took car to NH8 though the road was bumpy but car’s suspension reduced its effect a lot. Engine is quite refined. It’s a revelation very silent and the torque is also good (better than Logan) .Anything above 2000 rpm and it flies. Overtaking on the highways is a non issue and the drive ability with AC running is much better than the Logan diesel.
A premium Maruti sedan in a price band of 5 to 8 lakh makes it a lucrative product to go for if you need a long term commitment and to a sedan in a price of a small hatchback than its really a car for you.
