Macho car efficient mileage and superb features
Pros : mileage, inside features, solid built quality
Cons : brakes, rear seats, Engine
Hello friends, Raj Ulas from Tamilnadu. I got myself brand new Maruti Swift ZXI in December 2011. Some days back Swift got award, with (I –MARK Indian Design Mark), feels really swollen with pride. Apart from some minimal issues the hatchback is just superb. Before deciding for Swift, I wanted to go for Tata Indica Vista but my dad didn’t allow me he said that petrol cars of Maruti are always good, while mom didn’t like the way Vista looks, so went for SwIFT. The car has got ideal European styling in exteriors along with some resemblance to Mini Cooper car.
I fell in love first time when I went for the test drive, now it’s been 6 months and the meter says 5500 kilometers. The car has very good engine up till now the k series one and is able to deliver some amazing mileage figures with 16 kmpl in city, full AC on, and highway with touching 19kmpl, AC on all time, this figure is more I guess then committed by the company. The handling across city is pretty good as it’s a compact car and easy to cut corners and at the same time maneuverability is proper. But concern lies in the braking part, which is not good at all especially in the traffic packed state in city. The Maruti Swift has got problems to stop at low speeds in stop-go traffics and there are all chances to bump into another vehicle. Another concern which is haunting me is that one of relative has said that the engine after 40,000-45,000 kms the engine will start to rattle and noise will become obvious, as did in his Swift. The AC is good is decently cold in ongoing summers while the interior handy features along with Music player is awesome. A little issue rear seats that gives cramped legs to anyone above 5’2’’, this issue along with brakes needs to be solved by Maruti, will keep you updated.
