Maruti Wagon R, trustworthy and low maintenance car
Pros : Capacious, fuel efficient, low maintenance and resale value
Cons : No drawbacks
Maruti Wagon R shows the company’s ability to dominate in a particular segment for more than a decade. Friends, I bought Maruti Suzuki 5 years back and it has been a great pleasure driving it. I would say that as per the pricing, Wagon R is the best product and has no drawbacks to complain about. The interiors of this car are too capacious. Even a six feet tall person can sit quite comfortably in this car. My car is powered by a responsive 1.2 liter petrol engine and it delivers mileage of around 12-17 km/l even after a long run of more than 70,000 kms. All the five seats are very comfortable and have good leg space. On the rear seat, three occupants can sit comfortably.
One thing that I would say as per my experience with this car is that the maintenance cost of Wagon R is as same as an Enfield Bullet bike. Many spare parts have been changed in tenure of five years, but I never felt that the company is overcharging. Moreover, the resale value of this trust worthy car is good. I am planning to buy a new Swift after selling my Wagon R. And I have been offered a good sum for the sale of my old car.
I would be switching to a premium hatchback Swift from the value for money Wagon R. But those who are intending to purchase a value for money car in the range of 4 – 5 lakhs, I would suggest them to go for Wagon R. Nowadays, the upgraded Wagon R is available in the market which delivers better mileage than the old Wagon R I possess.
