Fiat Punto Pure to replace existing Evo
January 29, 2016: With an objective to keep its Evo hatchback fresh in minds of car enthusiasts Fiat India, the Indian arm of Italian car maker is going to bring its new version in Indian car market to be named as Fiat Punto Pure. The teaser of same has been recently released by car maker giving briefing details of same. The Punto Pure hatchback will be offered in both in both petrol and diesel variants with two engine options of 1.2 and 1.4 litre in petrol boosting the power of 68 bhp and 90 bhp respectively along with 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine tuned to generate the power of 75bhp.
Fiat Abarth Punto Evo launched with price tag of Rs. 9.95 (ex-showroom price, New Delhi)
October 19, 2015: Fiat India has launched Abarth Punto Evo in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). Empowered with 1.4 litre turbocharged T-Jet Petrol engine churning the power of 145 bhp the hatchback is capable to touching the mark of 100 kmph within the span of 8.8 seconds and is expected to deliver fuel efficient performance of 16.8 kmpl.
Fiat Punto EVO a new infant in Fiat Family
August 5, 2014: Fiat India, the Indian alliance of Italian car maker Fiat Motors has finally launched the upgraded version of its hatchback Punto as Fiat Punto EVO in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 4.55 lakh. The new Fiat Punto EVO has been launched in both petrol and diesel trims with three variants namely Active, Dynamic and Emotion in petrol trim, followed by four variants in diesel trim named as Active Diesel, Dynamic Diesel, Emotion Diesel and Sports Diesel. The petrol variant is offered with two engine options of 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre FIRE engine while the diesel variant is offered with 1.3 litre MJD diesel engine.

Fiat Punto EVO Engine Power and Performance:
Referred as an advanced version of its elder sibling Fiat Grande Punto hatchback, Fiat Punto EVO is the new initiative by Italian car maker launched in Indian car market with expectation that it will help in strengthening company’s image in India. The new hatchback has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants with three engine options. The petrol variant is offered with two engine options of 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre FIRE engine with displacement capacity of 1172cc. The 1.2 litre petrol engine is capable of generating the power of 67 bhp and torque of 96 Nm, while the 1.4 litre petrol engine boosts the power of 88.7 bhp and torque of 115 Nm.
The diesel variant is offered with1.3 litre Multijet DOHC engine producing the power of 75 bhp and torque of 197 Nm. The Sport trim in diesel variant is energized with diesel engine having the displacement capacity of 1248 cc and produces the power of 92 bhp and torque of 209 Nm.
Fiat Punto EVO Pick-up and Acceleration
As mentioned above Punto EVO hatchback is launched with three engine options of two petrol engine and one diesel engine. The petrol version is offered with 12 litre and 1.4 litre petrol engine. The two trims in petrol version equipped with 1.2 litre petrol engine, both the trims are mated with five speed manual gearbox reaching the speed from standstill to 100 kmph in 18.81 seconds and top notch of 135 kmph. The third trim in petrol variant which is empowered with 1.4 litre petrol engine belts the speed from zero to 100 kmph within the span of 15 to 16 seconds and accelerates the top speed from 155 to 165 kmph.
Moving towards the diesel variant the first three trims are mated five speed manual gearbox and touch the mark of 100 kmph in the period of 16.39 seconds with top speed mark of 165 kmph. The fourth which is top end trim in diesel version captures the speed from standstill to 100 kmph within the span of 14.33 kmph followed by top notch of 165 kmph.
Fiat Punto EVO Interiors and Features:
With dual colored color treatment the interiors of refurbished Punto EVO are similar to its recently introduced Linea. The newly developed dashboard sports air conditioner, glove box and an audio system. The appearance of dashboard is further enhanced with pair of round shaped meters garnished with chrome. The dashboard also sports external temperature display, speedometer, tachometer, tripmeter, fuel indicator, seat belt notification and time display. The comfort seats are designed to offer complete comfort seating experience to passengers offering complete relaxation to their every part of their body. With this the enlarged leg space at the rear of hatchback offer comfort seating experience to rear passengers.
Fiat Punto Exteriors and Features:
With newly developed front and rear looks the new Punto EVO looks more aggressive and dynamic as compared to its erstwhile version. The front fascia is developed with revamped headlight cluster with swept back design and integrates halogen headlamps and turn indicators. The radiator grille has been enlarged and has been given new look with lots of chrome surroundings. The bonnet receives slight improvements and carries windscreen washer along with it. The front bumper has been bestowed with large air intake coupled with fog lamp consoles. The appearance of front fascia is further enhanced with company’s logo marked on the centre of radiator grille.
Shifting towards the side profile it is almost the same as the previous version but this time the wheel arches sport a pair of diamond cut alloy wheels while the top end Sport trim bestows 16 inch alloy wheels. The top end variant also embellishes body colored ORVMs and chrome garnished door handles.
Moving towards the rear portion it is almost the same as the phased out version of Punto but bestows newly developed bumper with redesigned taillight cluster. The body colored rear bumper further carries the pair of brake lights. The C shaped tail light cluster are equipped with LED lights, the rear windscreen receives defroster with a wiper. The top end Sport trim in diesel trim is further blessed with spoiler placed about the windshield with third brake light.
Fiat Punto EVO Safety Features:
Integration of latest safety measures in new vehicles has become the necessity of time and from that point of view new Punto EVO is not going to disappoint its buyers. Apart from being blessed with all safety measures as offered in its elder siblings the upgraded Punto EVO also sports latest safety measures. The list of safety features adorned in new Punto EVO includes automatic door lock, engine immobilizer, and fire prevention. The mid-sized version sports AB S+EBD while the top end variant gets 3 point ELR seat belt with load limiter, height adjustable front seat belts, front air bags, front fog lamps and early crash sensors.
Fiat Punto EVO Braking and Handling:
The front and rear wheels are adorned with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The mid sized and top end variants are equipped with anti lock braking system and electronic brake force distribution system. The front axle is blessed with McPherson Strut suspension system while the rear axle integrates torsion beam suspension system. With all this the hydraulic power steering is developed to offer smooth driving experience to drivers.
