Renault Sandero Review
Renault Sandero Review by Expert
After rolling out its five cars in the Indian car market, Renault is now readying itself to bring new cars in India. Renault has three premium cars in its stable that belong to three different segments, however despite their good looks, these three premium cars have garnered bleak sales numbers. Renault Pulse is one such car which was launched in India in January last year in diesel guise first. Renault Pulse is a B segment car, but due to high competition in the B segment, Pulse is yet struggling to make a mark. Now the car maker is vouching on yet another B+ segment hatchback and is planning to bring it to the Indian shores. Here we are talking about Renault Sandero premium hatchback which could be a part of the domestic market but there is still a lot of time until that happens as the company is contemplating to launch this hatchback in India by the year 2016.
Renault Sandero is developed by the low cost Romanian subsidiary of Renault named Dacia. In fact auto pundits opine that this new B+ segment hatchback is likely to replace Renault Pulse; however, there is no official statement given by the Renault officials on this. Dacia is the same auto maker who developed low cost cars like Renault Lodgy and Renault Duster. Out of these two, Duster has been launched in India last year and has received an overwhelming response from the customers. In the same way, the company is expecting to get an unparalleled response for Sandero. These Dacia developed cars are sold in India under Renault brand, the low cost cars have always been in demand in India and Renault Sandero price is anticipated to be high, somewhere around Renault Pulse price, however the company has not given any hint on the price of Renault Sandero yet. The Dacia Logan platform which is known as voguish styling is known for its dependability, wide spacing and strong stance.
Coming to the engine configuration of the premium hatchback, the car will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. A manual gearbox will be mated to these engines. The petrol trims will be proffered in two engine options including the 900cc TCe turbo petrol engine churning out 90 Bhp of high power and 135 Nm of torque, while the other petrol engine would be the 1.2 litre, 75 Bhp motor. A 1.2 litre LPG-Petrol engine will also be in the offing, apart from these a 1.5 litre, K9K turbo diesel engine engendering two types of power and torque output will also be available. The 1.5 litre diesel engine with 75 Bhp-220Nm and 90 Bhp and 220 Nm output will be powering the diesel trims.
Coming to the features of Renault Sandero, it is expected to come equipped with the same set of features as offered in the 2013 version of Dacia Sandero. Some of the significant safety features like the rear parking sensors, dual airbags, Anti Brake System, EBD and navigation with satellite facility will be proffered.
