Skoda Octavia To Get Electric Powertrain

March 18, 2025: Aiming to align with existing market conditions, the Czech carmaker Skoda has announced to launch of an electric version of its premium sedan Octavia in the global market. According to the sources related to the production the electric Octavia will be developed on German carmaker Volkswagen's ID Golf which is slated to debut by the end of this decade. It is reported, that Skoda will launch the Electric Octavia also during the same time. The Octavia EV concept will be showcased at the Munich Motor Show. According to Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer, “The brand was initially prepared to utilize Volkswagen Group’s current MEB platform, they have instead opted for the more advanced SSP architecture to drive their EV evolution”.
